Crafting memorable art for every occasion and space.
“A painter should begin every canvas with a wash of black, because all things in nature are dark except where exposed by the light.”
- Leonardo da Vinci
"I began to paint in my mid-fifties, shortly after the death of my brother, Steve. He was a gifted graphic artist, and I attribute my journey into painting to this profound loss. Since then, painting has woven itself into the fabric of my daily life. I now find myself at the easel at least three days a week, perhaps making up for lost time.
For me, the success of a painting hinges on capturing light in a way that conveys both the texture and the emotion of a specific place or moment. No matter the subject, the treatment of light on the canvas is paramount. I work with both oils and acrylics, sometimes combining them for unique effects.
My art encompasses traditional landscapes, seascapes, still life, and figurative pieces. I embrace the idea that learning is a lifelong journey, and I am thoroughly enjoying this path as a painter.
In essence, painting brings peace and purpose to my daily routine. My goal is to share my awe and appreciation for the beauty of the natural world, but most importantly, I am simply grateful for each opportunity to paint."
